About Schillings Garden Market
In 2018, the property was purchased by Joe and Melinda Nichols. The Nichols had been long-time customers of Schillings Solar City Gardens and their children share fond memories of sunny days and picnic lunches with grandma and grandpa by the pirate ship. While the ship has since sailed away, the Nichols’ invite you to join them in their vision of bringing Schillings back to life with the same family-friendly experience so many folks enjoyed in years past.
Meet the Team
Dana – Manager
Dana has enjoyed gardening and landscaping for as long as she can remember. It all began by helping in her mom's flower and vegetable gardens as a child and progressed later on in life as she traveled the country. From Massachusetts to Arizona and several places in between, Dana has gained a wide range of experience. Her latest adventure brings her here, to Central Oregon, where she is excited to work along side a great group of plant loving people to bring Schillings back to life for as many people as possible to enjoy.
Molly - Assistant Manager
A local since the beginning, Molly grew up on a 20-acre sheep farm in Tumalo, attended Tumalo elementary, and graduated from Redmond High School. After going to college in a neighboring state and traveling abroad, she headed back to the familiarity of the Central Oregon desert.
Always up for an adventure, she loves to explore the local hiking trails, cast a fly-line on the Crooked River or a spontaneous road trip to her favorite top-secret local camping spot. Weaving rugs, baking pies and of course gardening are also big the to-do list
And Wally, her chocolate lab and main squeeze, is always riding shotgun next to her.
If you have questions about tomatoes or the best hiking trails, ask Molly.
Jenn - Assistant Manager
Jenn was born and raised in rural Idaho near Yellowstone. As a child, she spent countless hours traipsing through the Rockies learning native plants from her parents. Her grandparents and parents had large vegetable gardens and childhood chores typically involved weeding and picking snap peas. She spent a few years in Montana learning to garden in a very short and cold season. She has spent the last decade in Central Oregon, now on a small farm raising sheep, goats, chickens, and many many plants.
